As you well I am always on the look out to try new and different product ranges every time. In regards to facial cleansers, normally I tend to go for medium strength ones. Those that have less chemicals but enough active ingredients to remove impurities from my skin. Having said that I also like and adore ‘natural’ more ‘organic’ products.
I’m not saying that the Simple skin care range is 100% organic. However, they do seem to market themselves as producing skincare products that are less harmful to the skin and which take skin sensitivity seriously. For example, the Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel is 100% soap free.
Let’s look below at the full review of Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel:
Ingredients – Aqua,Cocamidopropyl Betaine,Propylene Glycol,Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose,Sodium Chloride,Panthenol,Disodium Edta,Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate,Sodium Hydroxide,Pantolactone,Citric Acid
To be fair, compared to the other brands, this cleanser has fewer ingredients. This may be a good thing because sometimes you don’t really know what some of these chemicals are and putting them on your face may not be a good idea.
Texture – It is a medium thin type of gel that is colourless. It is ‘soapy’ in texture rather than ‘foamy’. It lathers really nicely onto your face and is very easy to spread. Once you apply the gel there is no tingly feeling that you sometimes get with certain cleansers. However it doesn’t rinse off easily and you are required to wash your face several times in order to get the gel off.
Smell – Like other products by Simple. It doesn’t have any sort of distinct perfume smell. This in my view is a good thing as it means artificial ingredients are not added to make it smell nice.
If you have acne or a lot of spots on your face then this product may not really help you to overcome this. In my view it is not strong enough as the product is too mild. If you are looking to improve other skin conditions such as roughness or remove deep impurities, then again, this won’t really do anything. After cleansing my skin I find the blackheads are not fully removed. It also doesn’t do well for those with dry skin.
If on the other hand you are blessed with really good skin or have really sensitive skin, and you don’t like some of the other products with ingredients that cannot even be pronounced then this may be ideal for you. It certainly won’t cause skin irritation and as it is very mild.
Those with combination skin who tend to get an oily shine on their face, for them this product is really good. It will leave the skin feeling soft and will give it a refreshing feeling. I myself have used this at night in order to prepare the skin for my other facial oils.
Another really good plus point about this facial gel is that at no point has it ever dried my skin. In the past I have used facial cleansers where even after moisturising my skin is still left dry. Furthermore, I think in the summer months it will work better for the skin than in winter as it will help to minimise and control the excess oil. It is also very good in removing make-up at night and in the morning, after using the gel it gives a nice feeling and makes applying moisturiser or make-up really effortless.
In terms of the price you cannot really complain, much cheaper than other brands, but an added bonus is that the product will last you months. A friend of mine has been using it for 3 months and has half of it still left.
